Welcome to the site featuring Gail's Friesian

"Xavier of Dreams Come True Farm"

Xavier is moving to Texas! Congratulations, Kristen.

Elegant 2007 FHANA/FPS registered colt by Iron Spring Farm's Teade, now approved on offspring, and out of the ster mare, Wietske Janke V. Xavier has the looks and the movement that a Friesian is expected to have: already has lots of mane, tail, and feathering, just like his dam, sire, and grandsire, Anton. Xavier was the Reserve Champion Colt at the Coatesville 2007 ISF keuring with a second premium. He is a respectful gentleman with manners, who leads, bathes, clips, loads, and is handled and groomed daily. He has been started with Parelli natural horsemanship techniques and has a huge play drive--soccer is his game! Already keured, registered, micro-chipped and DNA typed. All reasonable offers considered.

October 2, 2007 Keuring Reserve Champion Colt

4 months old
Last year we bred our ster mare, Wietske Janke V, to Iron Spring Farm's Friesian stallion, Teade, who was approved on offspring last fall. That  healthy colt was born March 19, 2007 shortly after midnight. This was Wietske's fourth foal, so she knew the routine and foaled quickly. My excitement was hard to contain, since he would be our only 2007 Friesian foal.
    Xavier is r
egistered with both FHANA [the Friesian Horse Association of North America] and the Dutch FPS [Friesch Paarden-Stamboek (Friesian studbook)], which is the world-wide authority on the Friesian horse and recognized as the European Mother Studbook of the Friesian Horse. His dam, a very kind, friendly mare and excellent mother, Wietske Janke V [199925360] was sired by Ritse and is a "ster" Friesian mare.
This colt has always been very curious, bold, and extremely friendly. He has been regularly handled since day 1 and has been wearing a halter since birth, at 12 days old he was already starting to lead, and by 3 weeks old, I was able to lead Xavier in one hand and his dam in the other, when taking them out to pasture or back to their stall.
Since his dam was bred back, Xavier was weaned mid-July, but not without first learning a few of the 7 Parelli games to help with his manners. The week he was first separated from is dam was spent in the foaling stall, large enough to continue with his Parelli natural horsemanship training. After that week, he was then turned out with the yearling gelding, Ulysses, who became his pasture mate. In September I reintroduced his dam to his turn-out pasture, so they could travel together and be shown together at Xavier's October keuring.
The October 2 Coatesville keuring at Iron Spring Farm was very eventful--not only was Xavier awarded a 2nd premium by the Dutch judges, but he also was also the Reserve Champion Colt!
